BODY & MASSAGE

How to Receive Your Massage

Talk with your therapist
Before your massage begins, tell your therapist which areas you would like to focus on, and any areas to be avoided. During your massage, let the therapist know if you feel any discomfort. Communication is the key to getting the massage you want.
Deeper” doesn’t necessarily mean “better”
Our superb bodywork staff is eclectic, multitalented, and devoted to giving you a massage that will satisfy your needs. Please communicate with your therapist and allow the therapist to “listen” to your body.
Relax
Close your eyes and allow your mind and body to be quiet. Focus on how you feel. Breathe deeply and let tension slip away with each breath. Remember, this time is for you.
What To Wear (ME)
Dress comfortably; remember you are here to relax. We do have a locker room and shower for you to use at your convenience.

Massages

European Massage
(30, 60, 90 minutes)
One of the best known antidotes for stress this classical style of massage relieves muscular pain and tension, enhances flexibility, and promotes relaxation and a sense of well-being.

Aromatherapy Massage
(30, 60, 90 minutes)
An aromatherapy massage uses essential oils from plants to heal, alleviate pain, and regulate mood. Essential oils are volatile, highly concentrated plant extracts, derived from leaves, bark, roots, seeds resins, and flowers. The therapist uses up to five oils in a mixture and chooses the oils based on what you need. A relaxing aromatherapy massage, for instance, might have lavender or bergamot, while a massage for sore muscles might include peppermint and eucalyptus. This is a Holistic approach to become in tune with our mind and body.

Neuromuscular Massage
(30, 60, 90 minutes)
Neuromuscular massage is a form of deep tissue massage that is applied to individual muscles. It is used to increase blood flow, reduce pain, and release pressure on nerves caused by injuries to muscles and other soft tissue. A neuromuscular massage helps release trigger points; intense knots of tense muscle can also "refer" pain to other parts of the body. Relieving a tense trigger point in your back, for example, could help ease pain in your shoulder or reduce headaches.

Upper Body Stress Relief
(30, 60, 90 minutes)
This is a total upper body work! This is the area that most people carry stress and tension. Relax and Enjoy!

Pregnancy Massage
(30, 60, 90 minutes)
Massage during pregnancy differs from a regular massage in a couple of ways. The biggest way it differs is that the person receiving the massage is pregnant, and therefore knowledge of pregnancy and the anatomy of a pregnant woman are very important. This means that positioning during a massage is critical to the safety and well-being of both the mother and the baby she is carrying. There are also parts of the body that should not be massaged. A Pregnancy Massage is as relaxing and stress relieving as any other massage.
We do require a doctor’s note to be able to receive a pregnancy massage which can be faxed to us from your doctor’s office.

Reflexology Treatment
(30 or 60 minutes)
Reflexology is the application of pressure, stretch and movement to the feet and hands to effect corresponding parts of the body. Reflexologists view the feet and hands as a mirror image of the body. By applying technique a reflexologist can break up patterns of stress in other parts of the body. Benefits of reflexology have to do with the reduction of stress. Because the feet and hands help set the tension level for the rest of the body they are an easy way to interrupt the stress signal and reset homeostasis, the body's equilibrium. We perform reflexology on your hands and feet.

Hand & Arm Massage
(30 or 60 minutes)
Our arms and hands are used constantly throughout the day, and are required for our greatest expressions of emotion- from angry outbursts to tender caresses. An arm and hand massage can release tension and relax us, improving our sense of well-being.

Raindrop Technique
(60 or 90 minutes)
Raindrop Technique is a gentle massage method of “dropping” nine different essential oils on your spine and back. The gentle action of the oils is what brings out the remarkable results. The principle oils include: Valor, Thyme, Oregano, Wintergreen, Cypress, Peppermint, Basil, and Marjoram. Raindrop is an aromatherapy treatment based on the theory that viruses or bacteria that lie dormant along the spine cause spinal problems as well as many chronic illnesses and discomforts. Raindrop uses a sequence of essential oils to reduce inflammation and eliminate viral agents. Essential oils are dispensed like little drops of rain from six inches above the spine and lightly worked into the vertebrae using a number of techniques. Hot wet towels are placed over the spine and the feet to help drive in the oils and relax the muscles. This treatment will reduce mental fatigue and will leave you feeling relaxed, balanced, and rejuvenated.

Stone Therapy Massage
(60 or 90 minutes)
Hot Stone Massage is the application of water-heated basalt stones to key points on the body, giving a deep massage and creating sensations of comfort and warmth. The penetrating heat from the hot stones relaxes the muscles, which allows for deeper relaxation, when compared with regular massage therapy. (Stones are heat conductors and it is extremely important to communicate with your therapist if you have a high tolerance of heat or if something feels too warm.)

Rainstone Massage
(2 hours)
The rainstone massage is combination of both the Raindrop Technique and the Stone Therapy Massage. It starts off with the gentle massage method of the Raindrop Technique which "drops" nine different essential oils on the back and spine and lightly worked into the vertebrae using a number of techniques. Followed by a complete Hot Stone Massage which relaxes the muscles. (Stones are heat conductors and it is extremely important to communicate with your therapist if you have a high tolerance of heat of if something feels too warm.)

Lava Shell Massage
(60 or 90 minutes)
Lava Shells are real recycled Tiger Striped Calm shells that become self-heated massage tools that stay warm for over an hour without the use of any equipment or electricity. The calcium ions that are transferred from the shells to the skin during the massage process help regulate the skin's natural renewal processes for healthier firmer looking skin. (Lava Shells are heat conductors and it is extremely important to communicate with your therapist if you have a high tolerance of heat or if something feels too warm.)
